Mac OS X Mail Setup

To show the exact settings for your email adddress, enter your email address below.

1. Open Mail Preferences Window

  • Open Mail.
  • Click the Mail menu.
  • Mouseover Preferences...
  • Click once to open the Mail Preferences Window.

2. Create New Account

  • Select Manually from the Check accounts for new mail pop-up list.
  • Click the Create Account button.

3. Account Information Tab

  • Choose POP Account in the Account Type pop-up list.
  • In the Description field, type youraddress@yourdomain.com.
  • In the Email Address field, type youraddress@yourdomain.com.
  • In the Full Name field, type your name as you would like it to appear when you send email.
  • In the Host name field, type mail.yourdomain.com.
  • In the User name field, type youraddress+yourdomain.com.
  • In the Password field, type your email password.
  • In the SMTP Host field, type yourdomain.com.

4. Account Options Tab

  • Click the Account Options tab.
  • Check the box to Enable this account.
  • Check the box to Include this account when checking for new mail.
  • Check the box to Delete messages on server after downloading.

5. Finish

  • Click OK to save the settings for the new account.
  • Close the Preferences window to return to Mail.
